Jack Dorsey, the founder of Twitter, surprisingly stopped at iHub, a hacking and innovation centre for the city's IT population, on Thursday in Kilimani, Nairobi.
Following a presentation in Accra, Ghana, where he participated in the 2022 African Bitcoin Conference from December 5 to December 7, Dorsey made a brief appearance in Nairobi.
Dorsey enjoyed a dinner at the Crazy Grill in Parklands before meeting with tech enthusiasts at iHub. He snapped a picture of the restaurant and posted it to his official Twitter account.
Dorsey, whose current net worth is Ksh. 500 billion ($4.2 billion), kept the details of his iHub session under wraps but thanked everyone who attended in a following Twitter tweet.
His visit also corresponded with a previous declaration that he had contributed $2 million (about Ksh 245.6 million) to the startup bitcoin miner Gridless in Kenya.
Alyse Killeen's bitcoin-focused venture business Stillmark and the digital payments company Block, founded by Twitter founder Jack Dorsey, provided the funding for Gridless, which aims to use bitcoin to develop new renewable energy sources for rural Kenyan communities.
Gridless plans to use the funds to launch other bitcoin mining facilities around the nation.

The company now operates three mines in Murang'a County.
