Reactions have followed the launch of a new reality TV show, Big Brother Titans, which began on Sunday, January 16, as Nigerians are concerned that it will affect young people's turnout in the February presidential election.
Big Brother Titans is the anime version of Africa's most popular reality show franchise, Big Brother.

On the show, housemates from various parts of Nigeria and South Africa compete for a grand prize of $100,000 in cash while attempting to keep viewers glued to the television with action and drama.

According to organizers, the show will combine two other reality shows. The show are
- Big Brother Naija
- Big Brother Mzansi
Meanwhile, as Nigeria's elections approach, some Nigerians criticize the show, claiming that it will distract youth from actively participating in the upcoming election.
Statistics show that a lot of young people watch the BBNaija version of the show. This is clear from the fact that people have been talking about the show on social media since it started.
For one Daily Post interview, ask Nigerian singer/songwriter Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, also known as "Charly Boy," to be more concerned about what he does.
"I expect young people to face what needs to be faced; don't do us wrong, Big Brother," I said.
"Just make them concentrate on what they're up against; when they finish voting, they'll be ready to face Big Brother."
"Voting is supposed to be for everyone, but it is not Big Brother." Oga Charlie Boy should be added.
Addressing the issue, during the launch of Big Brother Titans, one of the hosts of the show, Ebuka, said, "Nigerian youths are very capable of going out to vote and also coming back to watch anything they want to watch."

Since the show's debut on Sunday, the hashtag #BBTitans has been trending on Nigeria's Twitter and other social media platforms as people discuss the show and the housemates.

Twenty housemates from this year's show will compete for a $100,000 cash prize.
The season one show that began on January 15 will last for three months.

The venue of this years' new Big Brother show which is a combination of two shows happens in South Africa. Why South Africa? Organizers claim that South Africa is the only best entertainment hub in Africa followed by Nigeria.
