New school uniform for Junior secondary, how to get KPSEA results for grade 6

 

On Monday, January 16, 2023, the Education Cabinet Secretary, Ezekiel Machogu, made the announcement that schools would begin to have access to Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) examination results.
 

 

Machogu said that schools would be able to view the results of the KPSEA beginning on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, as he was making the announcement of the Form One Placement on Monday, January 16, 2023, at the Kenya Institute for Curriculum Development.
 

 

The results of the Grade 6 examination will not, however, be accompanied by the glitz and glamour that are often associated with the announcement of the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
 

 

The national tests for grade 6 will be sent to both public and private elementary schools by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC).
 

 

After the report is made public, parents will be responsible for taking their children to their respective schools to get the KPSEA reports, which should be provided free of charge.
 

 

Education CS says that all of the students who took the KPSEA exams would be moved up to the junior secondary level.
 

 

According to Machogu, 1,253,577 students who participated in the KPSEA and took the exam in 32,555 centers will go on to junior secondary.
 

 

On December 21, 2023, at Mtihani House, KNEC CEO David Njeng'ere announced to the students that the results of the KPSEA test will be posted on their respective school portals. This took place with the release of the KCPE examinations.
 

 

Njeng'ere also made it clear that the results would not be used to put applicants in junior secondary schools; rather, they will be used to track the development of learners.
 

 

In addition, the Chief of the KNEC said that the examination board will be releasing three reports on the KPSEA: one for the individual, one for the school, and one for the national level.
 

 

Students in grade 6 can choose to go to a different school for the next grade based on how they did on the KPSEA.
 

 

Learners in Grade 6 who want to keep going to school and go to junior secondary school will still go to the same primary school, but they will wear a new uniform.
