Odinga was met at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) by important people from the Azimio community, like Martha Karua and Kalonzo Musyoka.

Others who were there at the airport were Eugene Wamalwa, who had previously served as Cabinet Secretary, and George Wajackoyah, who is now the head of the Roots Party.

On Monday, January 23, 2023, the leader of the Wiper Party, Kalonzo Musyoka, was at JKIA in order to meet the leader of the Azimio Party, Raila Odinga.

Raila said that it was wonderful to be back in his hometown and with "Tukutane Kamukunji."

The event, which will be open to the public, will take place at Kamukunji Grounds in Nairobi and will be held as soon as the former Prime Minister arrives in the nation.

A whistleblower said that he had proof of widespread vote rigging in Mount Kenya in the days leading up to the leadership election on August 9. This led to the organization of a protest.

Before Raila arrived, Kalonzo and other members of Azimio were spotted speaking with Wajackoya. After Raila arrived, the conversation abruptly ended.

Member of Parliament for Embakasi East Babu Owino and Lawyer Makau Mutua spoke with the Leader of the Roots Party, George Wajackoyah, as they waited for the Leader of the Azimio Party, Raila Odinga.

The most important members of Azimio who were at JKIA welcomed Raila Odinga with open arms and quickly accepted him.

Raila Odinga met Jeremiah Kioni when he arrived in Kenya on January 23 from South Africa. Kioni is the Secretary General of the Jubilee Party.

There was already a large crowd of Azimio's supporters gathered at Kamukunji Grounds some hours before the event was supposed to begin.
