Former President Uhuru Kenyatta

The National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF), a government organisation, has today reaffirmed that President William Samoei Arap Ruto has not discontinued the Linda Mama Program, which was started by the previous President Uhuru Mwigai Kenyatta.

In a statement from Monday, January 2, the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) said that the plan was still in place and that millions of pregnant women who went to hospitals were still getting coverage from it. This was several days after Kenya Kwanza's government took office.

The National Insurer stressed, to allay fears, that all women in the 47 counties, regardless of their political views, religious convictions, or race, stood to profit from the program in all the chosen hospitals around the nation.

The administration of President William Samoei Arap Ruto wants to reassure the people that the Linda Mama cover is still in effect and that moms are still receiving significant benefits.

According to the study, nearly 6 million moms have benefited from the coverage since it began in 2017, and that number has increased since President William Ruto assumed office.

The government said that the present administration is aware of the significance of Linda Mae, which was introduced in 2017 and urged Kenyans to immediately stop disseminating incorrect information on social media.

Expectant moms won't have financial difficulties during pregnancy and delivery because of the Multi-Million Program, which was launched during the Jubilee Regime and encourages them to hire a skilled birth attendant.

They had access to a one-year plan via the program that completely covered four prenatal checkups, normal or cesarean birth, three postpartum visits, and the child's vaccinations.

In addition to the aforementioned advantages, the program also protected women against a range of illnesses and pregnancy-related problems.

For pregnant women, Linda Mama also provided both inpatient and outpatient treatments.
