Moses Kuria, the secretary for trade and industrialization, has received accolades from President William Ruto, who described him as a competent worker.

In a media interview on Wednesday, he said that Moses Kuria is a "very serious professional" when he is not acting as a politician.

Ruto declared his trust in Kuria and his group of three permanent secretaries to carry out their mission and increase the GDP of the nation.

"We aim to stop our manufacturing's downward trend, which has seen its share of the GDP drop from 9% to 7%," he added.

The president went on to say that his government will make sure that manufacturing makes up 20% of the nation's GDP by 2030.

"We are going to accomplish a 20 by 30," he said, meaning that by 2030 manufacturing should account for 20% of our GDP.
