Sakaja Johnson Arthur

Nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba issued a stern reprimand to the Governor of Nairobi, Johnson Sakaja, accusing him of challenging the authority of the Deputy President (DP), Rigathi Gachagua.

Senator Orwoba delivered a message to the city boss while appearing on the programme "Morning Cafe" on TV47. In the message, he reminded the city boss that DP Gachagua also pushed to make him governor.

"This is the message I want to deliver to Governor Sakaja: he has to keep in mind that he was the one who was wronged by Azimio.

"Gachagua, the deputy president, and His Excellency were the ones who genuinely battled tooth and nail to guarantee that he would be elected governor."

"It is important for him (Sakaja) to keep in mind that he was elected under UDA and that it was UDA that battled on all fronts to guarantee that he won that seat."

"UDA is responsible for his election. Therefore, regardless of how he looks at it, he is going to have to concede ground unless he wants to be straight with us and admit that he exploited UDA to get into office and that when he was there, he stopped caring about it," the senator also said.

She also suggested to the city manager that he not put his faith in the MCAs since they could try to remove him from office. "If the County Assembly votes to impeach someone, you should consider whether or not you have the votes to do so in the Senate."

"Do you not anticipate needing someone of the calibre of Rigathi Gachagua in order to rally the Mount Kenyan troops?"
