Thika Road

A woman who was caught having a fling with her boyfriend while driving on Thika Road has been penalized Ksh20,000, and if she fails to pay the fine, she will be sentenced to six months in jail.

The incident caused a traffic jam, which led to the woman's arrest.

The driver, whose name has been kept secret, was given the sentence by a Makadara Law court after she pleaded guilty to the charge of creating a nuisance and impeding traffic at Thika Road Mall in Roysambu on January 24, 2023. The incident occurred on January 24 of that year.

The prosecutors told the judge that the alleged offender was detained by traffic officers from the Kasarani Police Station who were directing traffic on the road near the Thika Road Mall. These officers were on patrol near the mall.

The court was told that on an unfortunate day, the traffic officials who were patrolling the route were attracted to the horrendous traffic, and they quickly tried to discover the reason for the congestion by investigating its origins.

As they approached the vehicle that belonged to the alleged perpetrator, they saw the lady in a suggestive position with a male inside their vehicle, which was parked in the middle of the road. It is not obvious why the two individuals chose to enjoy themselves in such a public place.

The prosecutors stated to the court that the police attempted to stop the workout in a civilized manner and urge the two individuals to go to the driveway; nevertheless, they were subjected to harassment.

The prosecutor stated this while reading the facts regarding the incident. "The accused person began hurling insults at the officers, who were armed, and even reportedly dared them to open fire," the prosecutor stated while reading the facts surrounding the case.

In addition, the court was informed that the officers reported the unfolding drama to their boss at the Kasarani Police Station.

This information was presented to the court. Their boss immediately sent reinforcements, who quickly overcame the two lovers and then promptly arrested them.

The suspect was arrested and served with a summons to appear in court to answer the allegations that have been brought against her.

When the court inquired as to whether or not the facts presented were accurate, she confirmed that they were.

The lady asked the judge for forgiveness in her concession statement, stating that she was sorry for what she did and that she would never do it again. Thirsty drives her to the move.

On the other hand, the magistrate gave her a choice between a Ksh20,000 fine for each offense or jail for six months.

She may appeal within the next 14 days.
