Raila AU job terminated


Moussa Faki Mahamat has confirmed that Raila Odinga has been dismissed from his responsibilities as the High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa for the African Union.



The dismissal comes only one day after he made the announcement that there would be widespread protests in two weeks.



According to Moussa Faki, the chairman of the African Union, Raila Odinga's term as the African Union's High Representative for Infrastructure Development will indeed terminate after five years.



It was mentioned in a letter that was sent to Raila by Moussa Faki, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), and shared by Korir Sing'oei, the Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that the African Union Development Agency, also known as NEPAD, was responsible for the organization's infrastructure responsibilities.




In the letter, Faki also extended his congratulations to the head of the ODM for the contributions he made during his term, which were crucial in elevating the profile of the department within the organization.



"The rebranding of the agency formerly known as NEPAD as the African Union Development Agency NEPAD is now finished, and it has the comprehensive task of carrying out the continental agenda on infrastructure. "Regarding your position as the African Union's High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa, it is a particular honour for me to write to you on this topic.



In a portion of the letter, it was said that "your extraordinary leadership and unique understanding of the problems implicated have been important in elevating infrastructure as a major priority within the Continental agenda."



After the now-famous handshake with outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta, Raila was selected for the position in October of 2018.



In addition, Faki sent his best wishes to the ODM chief for success in all of his next undertakings.



"The African Union is looking forward to continuing to depend on your assistance for a variety of additional potential missions.



As a part of the message, it was written, "Wishing you all the best of luck in your professional growth, please appreciate, Excellency, the gesture of my greatest regard and individual admiration."
