Unconfirmed sources claim that modifications have been made to the security staff guarding former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
According to sources, the number of security guards has been reduced, and some of the officers from the General Service Unit who were assigned to the former president have been summoned back to work.
The former President's mother's security was completely withdrawn while in Mombasa. Reports indicate that things have not been OK at the first family since last week.
According to reports, the adjustments also included reducing or eliminating the security staff assigned to a few members of the former first family.
According to the reports, there have been some reductions in the number of cops assigned to watch over the houses of retiring President Kenyatta's family members.
Some of the officers were told to report to the GSU headquarters for redeployment.
The GSU officers and certain members of the presidential bodyguard unit were allegedly ordered to depart their positions and go to the headquarters per the instructions, which were purportedly implemented Thursday morning.
The fourth president's entire extended and close relatives, the majority of whom have benefited from the privilege for decades, are impacted by the decree.
Despite the lack of information on the security around the former president and if it has been reduced, reports claim that certain policemen were instructed to return to the headquarters.
A retired president is still entitled to VIP security under the Presidential Benefits Act, but this must be approved by the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration. VIP security is provided by six security guards.

The Interior Cabinet Secretary must also authorize the use of a maximum of six security officers to protect the retiring president's houses in the city and the country.
The Act only permits the previous president to have a maximum of six guards, but according to reports, former President Kenyatta was given 119 policemen.
The rumored adjustments to VIP security bring back memories of August 26, 2021, when Administration Police personnel took over protecting then-Deputy President William Ruto's official house in Karen from General Service Unit officers.

She is stuck in Mombasa and asking what she has to do with politics. She is wondering if she is also in demonstrations.
