Robert Murega Baicu has been appointed by Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza to oversee a countywide cancer education program.

At a fundraiser event for the Mt. Kenya Mountain Running Championship, the announcement was made.

According to the governor, cancer is a big health problem in Meru, and the community must join together to help individuals impacted by this illness.

Mwangaza said after the ceremony, "I sent a message to Gachaura today saying that I would send a message to the first male, even if he was restricted, inviting him to join us since even men may have cancer."

She said that the purpose of the mountain run was to generate money for cancer research, treatment, and support services, as well as promote mountain tourism and conservation.

"My government is dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of our residents, and we are dedicated to investing in cancer research and treatment." Mwangaza added, "With this, we were able to make headway in delivering that commitment and providing essential assistance to cancer patients."

Murega Baicu accepted the position and said that he would utilize his guitar abilities to tour the country and generate cash to purchase a KES 500 million ecology machine. He said that such a device would allow cancer patients in Meru to be diagnosed and treated without needing to travel far.

In order to help his fellow Meru residents and make their lives better, he asked the public and supporters to get behind this good cause.

About 10 million Kenyan shillings were given to the race, and the governor used the event to stress that her government would be responsible and open in all its work with partners.
