Mortar shells have exploded in Mogadishu, which is the capital of Somalia. This is happening at the same time that regional leaders are meeting in the city to talk about how they can work together to fight the al-Shabab rebel group.

Four of the rounds hit areas that were very close to the heavily guarded presidential residence.

There are no reports of any casualties at this time.

Because the Somali government recently beat the Islamist extremists in the military, the leaders of Kenya, Ethiopia, and Djibouti are meeting there to talk about the situation.

Al-Shabab still attacks often and is in charge of a lot of Somalia.

But since the government started a new attack in August of last year, with help from US and African forces, they have lost land.
