Natembeya sentenced to six months in jail for beating his wife until she lost a tooth

A guy from Nairobi was tried and convicted of beating his wife, which resulted in her losing one of her teeth, and was therefore jailed for six months in prison for his crime.

During a dispute with Rodgers Natembeya and Irene Nafula about the cost of their daughter's education, the jury was told that Rodgers Natembeya assaulted his wife with a wooden stick.

The alleged perpetrator burst through the door to the couple's house in Kawangware Stage Two in Dagoretti when the appellant went to open the front door for the alleged offender. The event took place at the residence of the couple.

As a direct result of this, he assaulted her and battered her so badly that she suffered tooth loss.

Magistrate Derrick Kuto said that the defendant inflicted significant injury on his wife and sentenced him to a period of imprisonment for a period of six months.

In his defense, Natembeya appealed to the judge to have compassion on him since he was just acting out of his sentiments and he was the one who caused the situation.

 

His wife also requested to drop the complaint, but the magistrate dismissed her plea, citing that she should have abandoned the complaint at the police station where it was first filed.
