Why Thika businessman James Mwangi was shot dead? Police launch investigation

An unidentified attacker shot and killed a businessman James Mwangi  from Thika outside his house in Kimathi Estate on Thursday evening.

Thika Police Commander Daniel Kinyua confirmed that this cruel incident happened.

He claimed that as James Mwangi was getting out of his car, a group of two armed individuals approached him and started shooting at him.

During the 7:30 p.m. encounter, Mwangi, a 47-year-old car trader in Thika Town, was shot twice at close range, once in the chest and once in the leg.

The attackers then escaped on a waiting motorbike.

The guy was then taken to a neighboring hospital, where doctors immediately declared him dead.

"We know he was alone in the vehicle when the incident happened, but we're not sure whether anything was taken from him."

Kinyua says, "We have since started an investigation into what happened while his wife was inside the house."
