Dishon Mirugi, a vocalist who sings in the Kikuyu dialect and whose real name is Paul Mathenge Nderi, is under investigation in connection with the murder of Pastor Elizabeth Wanjiru Githigi.

With the publication of claims that pastor Elizabeth had supposedly committed herself in his home, Dishon has become popular on social media.

The Nakuru-based preacher reportedly paid Dishon a visit at his home in Nairobi's Kamiti Road, and the singer subsequently claimed he had discovered her hanged.

According to Nation Africa, the artist said that the horrific event was the most challenging time of his life.

Dishon said, "I will not submit to the schemes of the devil because what God began in my life will endure forever and triumph against bad schemes."

The "justice that assures us that God is in charge," he said, is the only way to resolve the current problem.

According to a statement made at Kiamumbi police station on Saturday, March 18, 2023, Pastor Elizabeth passed away at the singer's home after she paid him a visit at his Kahawa West residence.

According to the police report, Dishon said that while the victim had managed to bring his suit from Nakuru, she had opted to clean both his home and his clothing when she got there since they were so dirty.

The artist stated that after leaving Pastor Elizabeth to finish tidying, he proceeded to Thika Road to conduct chores.

The statement states that after phoning the dead dozens of times, he shortly went back home since he was unable to get through to her on the phone.

When Dishon got home, he says he found Pastor Elizabeth in his closet, looking to have hanged herself with a bedsheet.

In his testimony to the police, he said that before leaving for the Jacaranda Maternity Hospital, he unwrapped the corpse and moved it to his vehicle.

Medical staff at Jacaranda declined to pick up Elizabeth's corpse since she had already passed away, per a police statement.

Dishon then proceeded to bring the corpse to the Kiamumbi police station, but the authorities advised him to report the matter to Kahawa West.

According to a police complaint that was submitted to the Kahawa West Police Station, Dishon called Pastor Elizabeth his ex-girlfriend.

Pastor Elizabeth's corpse was not picked up by authorities at Kahawa West police station either; instead, they encouraged Dishon to report the matter to Kasarani police station.

The corpse was also rejected for pickup by police at Kasarani police station, who claimed he ought to have disclosed the finding right away.

On Saturday night, Dishon drove the corpse between police stations while carrying it in his vehicle before being given permission to transfer it to the Kenyatta University Mortuary.

The musician and the DCI murder officers who took over the probe went back to the Kasarani police station on Sunday to submit a statement concerning Elizabeth's death.
