The much-anticipated premiere of "The Voice Africa" will take place on March 26, 2023, according to Airtel Africa, a top supplier of mobile payment services and telecommunications with operations in 14 African nations.

As the show's main sponsor, Airtel Africa has teamed up with FAME Studios Africa to have it air on free-to-air TV stations in all of its territories and on Airtel TV.

Nigeria, Kenya, Seychelles, Tchad, Uganda, Congo, Zambia, Tanzania, Rwanda, Gabon, Madagascar, Malawi, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo submitted 78,804 registrations to The Voice Africa.

From 78,804,  12,308 talents were picked for auditions, and 100 were ultimately chosen—seven from each nation and two wild cards—to advance to the live concerts in Lagos, Nigeria.

The Voice Africa will have the same structure as the international competition: blind auditions, battle rounds, elimination rounds, playoffs, and live events.

One episode of the program will be broadcast each week for a total of 25 weeks. The initial episodes will include blind auditions that are judged entirely on the vocals of the contestants, not their appearances.

A high-profile panel of coaches and TV presenters who will watch one of the 100 chosen talents be named The Voice Africa are anticipated to draw a pan-African and international audience to The Voice Africa.

"We are delighted to be able to bring the world's outstanding musical talents to Africa via the continent's version of the world-famous award-winning program, The Voice," stated Anthony Shiner, Group Chief Commercial Officer of Airtel Africa.

"The Voice Africa" will showcase African musical talent, bringing thrills and amusement to millions across the globe while exhibiting outstanding vocals, acts, and drama.

"With real-life accounts of resiliency, determination, difficulty, and achievement that some of you may relate to and that will have an influence on your lives, we have the chance to celebrate and participate in Africa's musical landscape."
