Boxing has been a good game for the British-Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua. Despite the hurdles that he encounters since last year, things have been on his side.

Anthony Joshua, a former champion of the world in the heavyweight division of boxing, defeated Jermaine Franklin, an American, and won the fight through an overwhelming points verdict in London.

It was the first battle for the British-Nigerian boxer since a defeat in a rematch by the current heavyweight champion, Oleksandr Usyk. The bout happened at London's O2 Arena.

Joshua won the bout unanimously with scores of 118–111, 117–111, and 117–111.

According to the BBC, tensions rose after the closing buzzer when the two combatants faced off against each other.

The combatants' squads were prompted to enter the ring as security personnel tried to restrain them.

After a string of defeats at the hands of Oleksandr Usyk, Joshua recorded his first victory in over two years with this victory.

"It was essential to come out on top. Jermaine has a terrific duck-and-dive style, but another British fighter will most likely knock him out," Joshua stated.

"I have affection for him; he performed well. Nevertheless, it is too late now since the damage has already been created. I am taking the fight to the next. He is not here to accept defeat but rather to demonstrate his worth. I regret not being able to knock him out."

Since becoming a professional in 2013, Joshua has racked up 25 victories, including 22 knockouts and just three defeats.

Franklin, at 29, has now tasted defeat twice, the first time at the hands of fellow Brit Dillian Whyte in November.
