The Boston Marathon will begin its 127th iteration this year, and the world champion has already declared himself an enthusiast.

Kipchoge stands out among the 30,000 competitors since he has smashed records in prior marathons all around the globe.


Aside from setting records, Kipchoge stands to earn millions of dollars—roughly USD 150,000 or Ksh20 million—if he wins the gold medal.


It is anticipated that the men and women participating in the oldest annual marathon on earth would split a total prize pool of $879,500 (Ksh118 million).


The course record is Kipchoge's declared goal, and if he succeeds, he will also get an extra $50,000 (Ksh6.7 million).


The top performer in the wheelchair section receives $25,000, while the champions in the open competition will each get $150,000.


The overall winner of the para competition will get $1,500, while the winner of the masters' competition will receive $5,000.
