Chelsea vs Newcastle final match 2022/2023

As the Premier League season comes to an end on Sunday afternoon, Chelsea will host Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge.

The Magpies are currently guaranteed a spot in the Champions League for the next campaign, as they are four points ahead of Liverpool in fifth place going into the final round.

Chelsea, however, is in the last position and is 27 points below Newcastle, meaning they are going to end up in the bottom half of the standings.

There is no denying that Chelsea had a terrible season, finishing with 11 victories, 10 draws, and 16 defeats in the Premier League.

To make matters worse, just three teams—Southampton, Everton, and Wolves—have scored fewer goals this season than the Blues' meagre 37.

After being humiliated 4-1 against Manchester United on Thursday, Chelsea has only been successful in winning one of their preceding 13 games in every category.

After losing six of their previous eight Premier League contests, Frank Lampard and his team will be eager for the season to be over.

Newcastle United, in comparison, has only lost five of its 37 league games this season while winning 19 and drawing 13.

Due in large part to the efforts of manager Eddie Howe, the Magpies have earned a spot in the Champions League for the first time in 20 years.

Following a scoreless draw with Everton, Newcastle enters their match against the opposition on Sunday having dropped only two of their previous 13 games.

Newcastle will be hoping for further travel-day fortune at Stamford Bridge after winning four of the team's previous six matches on the road and netting 15 goals in the process.

Head-to-head: In the rematch from November, Newcastle defeated Chelsea 1-0, with Joe Willock scoring the game's lone goal.

Newcastle has just overtaken Chelsea, despite the Blues having won seven of their previous nine league encounters.

News about the team: Benoit Badiashile, Armando Broja, Reece James, N'Golo Kante, Mason Mount, Marc Cucurella, and Ben Chilwell are among a long list of Chelsea players who are injured.

Nick Pope, Emil Krafth, Jamaal Lascelles, Matt Ritchie, Joe Willock, and Joelinton are among the Newcastle players who will end the season on the injury list.

Chelsea and Newcastle are separated by 27 points, so their rivals are predicted to wrap up the season by winning all three points at Stamford Bridge.

The match will be live on K24 TV, K24 Plus, GOTV and all streaming platforms as free to air.
