A worship service is being held right now in front of the Shanzu Law Court in Mombasa County by attendees from Pastor Ezekiel Odero's New Life Prayer Centre and Church.
Because of this, Pastor Ezekiel is expected to show up in court today to find out if he will be allowed to go free on bond or will be required to remain in custody, as the prosecution asked.
On Thursday, the preacher was taken into custody and jailed for an additional inquiry into allegations of fraud, money laundering, murder, assisting in suicide attempts, radicalization, crimes against humanity, and child abuse.
His supporters have already said that they will set up camp outside of the courthouse, where they will sing hymns of praise and recite prayers for their pastor, who was detained for what his followers believe to be false claims.
The police stated in a peculiar plea on Friday that intelligence information has revealed many fatalities inside the boundaries of New Life Prayer Centre and Church that were documented at Kilifi Police Station between last year and this year. These deaths were reportedly recorded between January and April of this year.
According to the police, there is reliable evidence connecting him to the remains that were excavated at Shakahola Land in Malindi, which is located in Kilifi County.
