When it came time for her to take the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam, Betty Kyallo decided to be upfront about the mean grade she received.
During the season two premiere of the reality shows Kyallo Kulture, which covers her private matters and those of her family participants, the media celebrity opened up to reporters about her KCSE grade.
On May 23, 2023, Betty and her sisters, content producer Gloria Kyallo and businesswoman Mercy Kyallo had the private premiere of season two of their reality series at the Radisson Blu, Upper Hill.
The Kyallo family members, especially their mother, as well as several famous people, actors, actresses, and media figures, addressed the invitation-only event.
Betty happily announced to reporters that she received a mean mark of B-minus on the KCSE.
The single mother stated that she enjoyed studying business and agriculture. She guessed that she received an A in both courses and advised Kenyans not to check her results with the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC).
"I received a B, and I believe I received an A in agriculture. I excelled in both business and farming. I believe I received both, if I'm not confused. Huku Musiende KNEC I am Museme Alipata Ngapi. Oh my God, she lied to us. Laughing, Betty Kyallo remarked, "It was a long time ago."
The media celebrity also admitted that chemistry was her least favourite class in high school.
She was unable to avoid pondering how the material she had learned in the course had benefited her in real life.
"Chemistry [worst subject], Mimi Nlienda Huko, how is titration assisting me as a news anchor? How can the water becoming pink, green, or blue help me? "
Betty Kyallo claimed that even though she didn't fare very well on the KCSE, she is one of the famous people who have publicly shared the grades she received.
In the face of rumours that they failed, several celebrities, including rapper Trio Mio, resolutely resisted the temptation to make their KCSE scores public.
In Kenya, a C+ is required to enter a university. Even so, a B+ is regarded as the standard for success because it qualifies a student for numerous marketable programmes provided by Kenya's top universities.
Celebrities like Khaligraph Jones, who performed below the C+ mean score, have refuted the notion that scholastic aristocrats are the ones who achieve the highest levels of success in life.
In his song "Maombi Ya Mama," in which he discussed his problems and revealed that he received a D+, Khaligraph first revealed his KCSE grade.
