President William Ruto cabinet

Just one day after Dr Josephine Mburu was fired from her position as the PS for Public Health and Professional Standards due to a procurement scam at the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority, President William Ruto changed the principal secretaries in many Cabinet ministries.

Dr Mburu will be substituted with Mary Muthoni Muriuki, who has been transferred from the State Department of Correctional Services of the Interior Ministry to the Health Ministry, according to the adjustments announced by the Head of Public Service, Felix Koskei.

The State Department of Correctional Services has taken over the duties of Ms Esther Ngero, who formerly oversaw performance management in the Prime Cabinet Secretary's office.

The PS in charge of handling medical services, engineer Peter Kiplangat Tum, has been transferred to the sports department.

PS Jonathan Mueke, who oversaw sports, has been moved to the Ministry of Agriculture's Livestock Development division, while Ephantus Kimani, who oversaw forestry, is now responsible for irrigation.

Harry Kimtai, who formerly served as the PS for Livestock Development, will now be in charge of the Health Ministry's Medical Services docket.

The irrigation department PS, Gitonga Mugambi, has been transferred to the forestry docket.

The Head of State has proposed Faith Njeri Harrison for installation as the PS for Performance Management within the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary to fill the position left by the dismissal of Dr Josephine Mburu as the PS for Public Health and Professional Standards.
