When Manchester City and Arsenal face off in this year's Community Shield, their animosity will be reignited at Wembley.
The one-off contest, which serves as the season's opening match, traditionally features the Premier League champions against the FA Cup winners.
Arsenal has been chosen as the opposition to meet Pep Guardiola's team, despite the fact that Manchester City won both titles last season, making them only the second English club ever to complete the triple.
Community Shield dates
The Community Shield will begin at 4 p.m. on August 6th.
After hosting the match between Manchester City and Liverpool at Leicester's King Power Stadium last year, Wembley is now back in the hosting role.
When one side wins the Premier League and FA Cup in the same season, the Community Shield regulations provide that the club that placed second in the Premier League shall play in the match.
By bringing in long-time league leaders Arsenal, City finished the regular season five points ahead of Mikel Arteta's team.
In the meantime, the FA Cup was won by City in June after a 2-1 victory against Manchester United.
