Mombasa governor Hassan Ali Joho unveiled the Mombasa county preparedness on the virus spread. However, the Governor said the country can only restrain the virus by the total lockdown.
The Mombasa County COVID-19 Treatment Centre domiciled at the Technical University of Mombasa. This facility is an exemplary show of a strong partnership between the County Government of Mombasa and the private sector.
The centre will be handling mild and moderate COVID-19 cases while the critical cases will be handled at the Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital.
” We also launched four ambulances with critical care capacity that will be dedicated for transfer of COVID-19 patients only, ” he said.
” I wish to thank everyone and every organisation that participated in the success of this noble initiative, ” he added.
” We have approximately 250,000 testing kits and we are expecting more from our partners soon. We are now rolling out mass testing in various centres across all sub-counties in Mombasa, ” Governor Joho said.
