Kilifi county graft has hit the ceiling with handshake blocking and sheltering governor Amason Jefwa Kingi and his peers.
According to the information we have, it's recorded that Ksh.31 Million was set aside for the construction of Mariakani sub-county hospital mortuary. The funds were channeled through the county secretary who was Owen Baya at that time.
Vichakani dispensary maternity wing in Kaloleni constituency at Ksh. 21million also varnished in the thin air.
Ksh. 40 Million for Kilifi county radio station has also varnished. Since 2015 the Radio station has been in construction 4 years down the line.
It is alleged that the allocation that was meant for the construction of Mariakani Mortuary was used to fund Kilifi North Legislature Owen Baya 2017 campaigns.
Ksh. 20M was set aside in 2018-2020 through 2019 financial years to expand agricultural activities such as fertilizer and Seeds distribution. None was distributed despite the agricultural department receiving the allocations.
Millions of cash were allocated for the wards in Drilling boreholes. Since the allocation in 2016, only 3 boreholes are reported complete by the county government officials from Rabai constituency despite the county buying 7 high-end drilling machines.
Some of the projects that the county are allegedly swindled the allocations include; Mtwapa bus park, Mtwapa public toilets, Mtwapa Market, Malindi street lighting, sports allocation for the country league clubs(division), baolala dispensary maternity wing expansion, Malanga dispensary, Ganze youth polytechnic, Kaloleni bus park, modern MCA offices among others.
