Kakamega Police officers arrest a 38-year-old man accused of killing his boss for seizing his wife. The boss snatched his wife after promising him a better life as a boss in her husbands' hustle.

Mr Duncan Avaye,  a resident of Shikhambi area in Kakamega, is claimed to have been hit by Britain Mikhalo in the head on Thursday night (June 5) after Mikhalo allegedly fled with his 36-year-old wife, a mother of five children.

Mr Brian Mikhalo, 37, operated a doughnut business in Kakamega Town, and Mr Avaye would assist in the preparation of the mandazis for sale.

Kakamega Central OCPD Mr David Kabena said Mikhalo died while receiving treatment at a local hospital where he wa taken by good samaritans.

“He was hit in the head with a blunt object at Milimani Estate, where the suspect had dragged him to. Mr Mikhalo died shortly after admission to hospital,” said Mr Kabena.

Neighbours said Avaye and Mikhalo were good friends and enjoyed a genial work relationship until January 2020, when the two fell out after Mikhalo allegedly seduced and eloped with Mr Avaye’s wife.

“The deceased and the suspect were good friends. They, however, fell out after the deceased successfully seduced the suspect’s wife five months ago,” said one of Mikhalo’s neighbours, Reuben Otiende, revealing that the suspect had, on several occasions, warned the deceased to keep off his (Avaye’s) spouse.

“I advise men, who want intimate relationships, to look for unmarried women. This kind of death would have been averted had the deceased not snatched his friend’s partner,” said another of Mikhalo’s neighbour, a middle-aged woman.
