After the court ruled in favour of lawyer Ahmednassir Abdullahi over his Bentley damage done by KeNHA negligence, the lawyer bags Sh 750, 311 Bentley windscreen.

A court ruled on August 6 after he sued the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) over the damage done on his Bentley Bentayga bought in 2018.

The lawyer blamed KeNHA for carelessness after his windscreen was damaged by stones that hit his car during the re-carpeting of the Nairobi-Namanga Highway.

He was awarded Ksh 750,311 by the court as special damages for repairs and labour costs resulting from the incident.

He was driving back to Nairobi from Arusha, Tanzania and explained that KeNHA should have blocked the road with signs as well while the works were being undertaken.

The lawyer maintained that KeNHA owed him and other road users a duty of care, railing against shoddy jobs undertaken by government contractors and agencies.

Abdullahi required KeNHA held fully liable for the damage to his windscreen and wanted the agency to also pay the costs of the suit.

Ahmednassir caused buzzing when he obtained the Bentley Bentayga in early 2018. The vehicle costs an estimated Ksh47 million.
