Police officers

Police in Nyando, Kisumu County, urged to fast-track a gang of 10 youth who ambushed and raped two high school girls in Ahero.

The two were reportedly walking home from a night vigil in Korowe area in Rabuor when the gang engaged them near Deliverance Church.

Nyando Justice Centre Coordinator Caren Omanga, who attended to the duo, said they were treated at Ahero sub-county hospital and are recovering at home.

She said they were able to recognise one of the boys and officers from Ahero Police Station are trailing him to help name the other suspects.

Ms Omanga, said police must now act and stop disco Matangas and night vigils which seem to have sneaked back.
