ODM now says they are ready to initiate an impeachment motion against Migori Governor Okoth Obado.
The party states that the latest corruption charges pressed against Governor Obado and the decision by the court to bar him from accessing his office resulted in their decision.
“The party in consultations with County MCAs has resolved to have a motion of impeachment against the Governor initiated immediately and have the Deputy Governor take over,” ODM said.
Migori MCAs were to have a meeting with the ODM national leadership on Tuesday at the party headquarters but the venue was later changed.
However, it remains unclear for the reasons for the change of venue.
Reports indicate that 37 out of 41 MCAs voted to impeach governor Obado over the graft allegations.
