Actress Stacy Vugusta alias Pendo charged at a Mombasa court for failing to pay Ksh. 208,000 bill at the English Point Marina hotel.
The accused had accumulated a total bill of Ksh.330,000 but was only able to raise Ksh.145,000.
The management claims that she pledged to pay the remaining amount in two weeks. Later, she gave them between September 14 and October 7, 2020.
The hotel administration barred her from leaving the premises, demanding that she pay the amount in full.
Two weeks later, their attempts to have her raise the money had still proved futile while her bill had continued to grow.
It was then that the management resolved to report her to the police and have her charged in court.
Pendo is said to have arrived at the hotel in the company of an unidentified man. According to sources, the Man is a popular DJ in Kenya.
The duo spent a few days together at the luxurious hotel before the man fled her.
On Friday, Pendo was taken to court before Resident Magistrate David Odhiambo at the Shanzu court in Mombasa.
She denied the charges and freed on Ksh. 100,000 bond or an alternative cash bail of Ksh.35,000.
The court ordered the accused to pay the amount before March 15, 2021, as the case continues next.
