Police officers in Changamwe arrested group youths who were ready to take an oath from an outlawed group at the Coast, the Mombasa Republican Council(MRC) in Miritini.

According to the Coast Regional Commissioner John Elungata, more than 200 youths were arrested and in Police custody waiting to be arraigned in Court.

The youths had been assembled at a thicket in Miritini where they were taken through the oaths and sacrifice.

Mombasa Republican Council is now taking shape at the Coast luring youth to taking oaths as the country near elections.

The regional boss urged the youth to keep off from the group saying anybody found practising or taking oaths will face the full force of the law.

MRC has been preaching the secession of the Coast region from Kenya saying Coast is a British protectorate and was given to Kenya Government for 50 years before they could choose their way out.
