DCI officer Constable Andrew Mithika Kaura, who was stabbed by gunmen in Kayole on Wednesday succumbs to the wounds.

Constable Kaura was on leave when robbers attacked him at Kayole Sokoni area.


The robbers assailed and struck Mr Kaura while he was walking to his residence at around 8 pm.


During the attack, he sustained head and chest injuries. The robbers took his two phones and other personal belongings.


Kaura’s wife took him to Kayole Hospital. He received treatment and later discharged.


However, on Friday at around 9 pm, his health worsened, and he passed away in his house before taken back to the hospital.


The deceased officer, a Crime Scene expert, joined the service in 2002 and has worked in various stations.


Kaura’s body later transferred to the Kenyatta University mortuary awaiting post-mortem.


Detectives have launched probes into the crime and are hunting down the robbers.
