DP William Ruto allies in UDA had press-briefing at the Parliament Buildings over the likely kidnapping of Digital Strategist and Blogger Dennis Itumbi.

While vilifying the incident, the Ruto-allied lawmakers pointed fingers to Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, Interior PS Karanja Kibicho and Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai as behind the Itumbi’s abduction.

Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika and Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen led UDA while reading a press statement that said that Itumbi’s abduction was provoked by his social media posts against Matiang’i, Kibicho, George Kinoti and IG Mutyambai.

The move came after Mutyambai's son arrest after he was implicated in a road accident that took two Boda Boda riders lives.

“Itumbi has established that his abductors took turns to beat him while warning him that the torture was in retaliation of his social media posts of CS Matiang’i, PS Karanja Kibicho, the IG Hillary Mutyambai and DCI George Kinoti.

" They also questioned him on a post he made on the formation of a KRA team led by Sammy Muchemi plainly to harass business persons associated with DP Ruto.

“The abductors undoubtedly demanded that Itumbi stop debating David Mwendwa, son of IG Mutyambai, who is under investigation following a road accident that killed two Boda Boda riders,” Kihika read out from the statement.

The lawmakers also revealed that the search for Itumbi was made easier by inside intelligence presented to them by officers of goodwill who were privileged to have information about the abduction.
