Sunday Adelaja, a Nigerian pastor ministering in Ukraine, has described how he was targeted by Putin's men and miraculously fled, leaving his multi-million dollar church and possessions behind.

Adelaja has lived in Ukraine for 36 years, during which time he has risen to become one of the country's most powerful pastors.

He developed "the country's largest church," with tens of thousands of members. But, because of the country's present crisis, he is forced to leave everything behind, and he is unsure whether he will ever return to Ukraine.

People keep saying about leaving, Pastor Adelaja remarked in a recent interview with the BBC, but it is not easy as they put it. He stated that relocating entails leaving behind his entire life and everything he has ever worked for.

He claimed that he spent millions of dollars to build Ukraine's greatest church, and that he is saddened by the fact that he has abandon all of his members and his home with everything inside behind.

He claimed that his wife only managed to get toothpaste and a few other goods, and that they were able to flee in their car. He claimed it's an encounter he wouldn't wish on his worst enemy.

If he had been a "regular person," he stated he would have stayed behind. And that several Africans and Ukrainians are currently sheltering in his home's basement. He claimed that because of his profile, he and his wife were forced to flee the nation.

He stated that he left Nigeria at the age of 19 and that things would never be the same for him again.

Pastor Sunday Adelaja made news a day ago when he claimed that he was on Russian President Vladimir Putin's death list in the aftermath of Russia's aggression of Ukraine.
