Rose Gakuo, who had previously worked as a news presenter for KBC and K24, has accepted a post in the office of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua after being given the job.

Gakuo served as the Head of Public Relations for the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) until his position was recently eliminated.

Once Gakuo's stint with the NMS came to a close, she disappeared from public life, but she did so again on February 5 during a worship service held at Jesus Winning Ministries in Nairobi.

She stepped up to the microphone not long after the sermon had concluded in order to provide a warm welcome to the Member of Parliament for Roysambu, Agustine Kamande Mwafrika, who would be leading a session of remarks from elected leaders.

Once the Deputy President had finished speaking to the audience, she stepped up to the platform in the role of a protocol controller in order to hand over the remainder of the service to the pastor of the church.

A source working inside the office of the Deputy President says that the former prime-time news anchor for K24 is now employed by the DP's office.

"Gakuo is currently employed by the office of Gachagua. "However, I am unsure of the role," the source stated.

At Laikipia University, which she attended before beginning her career in politics, Gakuo ascended through the ranks to become the first female president of a students' organisation in Kenya.

During her time as The Presenter, she was offered a position at the national broadcaster, KBC, and she held that position until 2019, when Mediamax came calling.

Yet she did not remain in the media house located on Longonot Place for very long at all. She was selected to lead the public relations department at NMS in 2020, just four months after she turned 29 years old. This was shortly after she was offered the position.
