William Kinyua, secondary school teacher arrested for sodomising 23 years old man

A secondary school teacher who is accused of drugging and sodomising a 23-year-old man at Baricho Trade Centre in Ndia Constituency has been detained by police in Kirinyaga County.

William Kinyua, the accused, who police allege committed the alleged indecent behaviour over the previous week, was on the run until detectives caught up with him on Wednesday. He works as a teacher at Baricho High.

"Kinyua drugged the victim, a car wash attendant, at a neighbourhood hotel in Sagana after originally tricking him into accompanying him towards the town after cleaning his vehicle," according to Kirinyaga West Sub-County Police Chief Moses Koskei, who confirmed the crime.

Kinyua is said to have promised the complainant, who was said to have cognitive problems, a glass of beer in exchange for such a great performance.

As the two got to the neighbourhood tavern, Kinyua fulfilled his promise and ordered the drink, but the victim quickly became unconscious after consuming the liquor.

Koskei added, "The victim claimed he did a wonderful job cleaning the tutor's car, but only somewhat did he realise that the tutor had ulterior motives."

A group of women later discovered the victim by the Sagana River, abandoned and undressed, according to Koskei.

They told the local police about what happened, and the police took the patient to the hospital.

In anticipation of his sentencing, Kinyua is being detained at the Baricho Police Station.
