Authorities are looking into a case where a man burnt himself at his house in Uriri, Migori County, allegedly because his wife wouldn’t prepare chicken.
The Migori Level Four Hospital mortuary received John Rugala’s corpse. Nyaobe Assistant Chief John Atonya confirmed the terrible occurrence and claimed the 45-year-old man had shut himself in their home before lighting himself on fire.
“The victim, John Rugala, was found to have locked himself inside the home before setting it on fire. We comprehend that she declined to prepare chicken for him,” Atonya stated.
According to early accounts, the wife opposed the plan since their daughter owned the chicken.
The administrator said, “He objected when the wife pushed him to acquire approval from his daughter, who possesses the chicken.”
The deceased is then believed to have ordered his wife away before ending his own life, according to a Citizen Digital investigation.
In an attempt to put out the fire, members of the public flocked to the site but failed.
Atonya stated that while the police inquiries are ongoing, the deceased’s body has been transported to the mortuary at Migori Level Four Hospital.
