After their joint song Enjoy was removed from YouTube, singers Diamond Platnumz and Juma Jux experienced a significant setback.
The song’s audio has been taken down from YouTube as a result of a copyright complaint made by a rising Congolese musician.
The artist who made the move has threatened to file another copyright strike to have the song’s music video taken down, but it is still online.
In just a few weeks, the video received over 10 million views.
If you navigate to YouTube, the song’s audio is not there, and it states that it was taken down after the person claiming to be the song’s original owner protested to YouTube.
Sapologuano Odenumz, a man supposedly from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, is the man in question.
Speaking to one of Tanzania’s most well-known blogs, Odenumz said that it was actually true that he submitted complaints to YouTube about the song’s melodies appearing on the Enjoy tune.
“Yes, I copyright challenged the song due to the fact that the melody of my song I Found Love was found on their song Enjoy,” he said.
The musician said that Diamond and Jux later sued him for the business that promotes their music, and the conflict is still going on.
The musician claimed that after hearing the song “Enjoy,” he was really horrified and determined to send a message to Jux to let him know. However, Jux did not respond.
“They have also abused their position of authority by accusing me, so I’m waiting for them to laugh at me so we can put a stop to it. The Congo is the country where I am.
“When the music was first published, I complained to YouTube about it. However, they recently informed me that they had been able to shut it down.
“All I want is to be paid because it is work we are fighting for while we are still young. In the email, I received a note inviting me to meet and finish it. I can’t express how much I want because it’s simply talk after discussion,” he remarked.
