Collins Kiptoo, a resident of Nandi Hills

Collins Kiptoo, a resident of Nandi Hills, is alleged to have attacked the headquarters of a betting firm located in Westlands, Nairobi after losing more than KSh 1.2 million of his earnings.

According to Lemiso Media House, the incident occurred after a sequence of events that started on March 13, 2024.

Kiptoo claims that on March 13, he successfully placed a wager and won more than KSh 1.5 million.

The money was deposited into his account on March 14 at 1 a.m. However, ten minutes later, he faced problems when attempting to place another wager.

The betting firm notified him that he must wait 24 hours before making another wager after he called them.

While waiting, Kiptoo withdrew KSh 300,000, which was the highest amount permitted by the company. When he checked his account at 7:29 p.m. on March 14, he found that the remaining amount was still there.

However, when he checked it again at around 1:30 a.m. on March 15, he discovered that his account was empty.

Upon contacting the customer service department of the betting firm, Kiptoo was informed that his account had lost money due to auto bets. However, he claimed that he did not place any bets after winning.

Frustrated and seeking answers, Kiptoo decided to take matters into his own hands and went to the Westlands headquarters of the betting firm.

He demanded to know who withdrew money from his account and sought an explanation for the loss of more than KSh 1.2 million.
