Actress Yvonne Jegede reveals secret behind shaving her hair

In an audacious gesture, Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has shorn off her natural hair in preparation for her part in the forthcoming film “AJA.”

Jegede, renowned for her long natural hair, asserts that she had been caring for her hair for ten years before making this decision.

In order to completely embrace the persona, Jegede made the choice to undergo the metamorphosis, which she shared on her Instagram account on Sunday. She said that the decision was required.

For as long as I can remember, I have had the belief that in order to convey a narrative in a genuine manner, one must be prepared to devote all to the character, even if it means going outside of their comfort zone.

Because of this mindset, I made the choice to chop my hair for the film “AJA,” which is now in production. She added, “It was not an easy choice, but for me, it was important to completely inhabit the character I have been entrusted to bring to life.” She was working on bringing the role to life.

According to her explanation, she needs “a bodily alteration that would link me even deeper with the role.” This was in addition to the language and emotions portrayed in the character.

Jegede underlined that her commitment to her profession is unbounded and that she is eager to push the limits of what is possible in order to ensure that she delivers excellent performances.

She went on to say, “Cutting my hair was not only about altering my look; it was about letting go of my comfort zone and embracing a new aspect of myself for the purpose of the tale.”

“Since childhood, I’ve believed that actors must be willing to push the limits, and this character certainly does that.”

“In addition, this choice expresses my commitment to the trade that I do. Not only do I take acting seriously, but I also feel that I should completely submerge myself in every part that I play.

“‘AJA’ is a unique project that will challenge my skills, and I am ready to dedicate all my resources to it.” It’s crucial to embody the character not just through outward appearance but also through internal transformation.

“I am too passionate about my work to take any chances. When it comes to conveying the proper message, I regard myself as a tool; if the screenplay is worthy of it, I will do everything it takes to bring the tale to life.”

She added, “Aside from this significant transformation, I am training myself to speak the Yoruba language in its right use.”
