CCTV footage shows an altercation between controversial Nakuru pastor Elias Mutugi Njeru and his wife Florence Wanjiku outside an apartment building on the night of Thursday, 21st November 2024.
According to the footage, it appears that she pursued him and the car with the intention of injuring him. He quickly stopped the car to try to calm things down. When he got to her, he saw the knife.
He took the knife from her, and during the ensuing scuffle, she sustained injuries. After that, he turned off the car once more and fled to safety.
Wanjiku accuses Njeru, who turned himself in to Nakuru police on Monday with his lawyer, of violently attacking her later that night, allegedly stabbing her multiple times and causing severe injuries, including the loss of several fingers, in an incident she described as unprovoked and originating from a previous domestic dispute.
Speaking from her hospital bed, she described how the pastor followed her home after a meeting and assaulted her at the gate.
According to his legal team, the ongoing investigations will thoroughly address this accusation to determine the full context and truth of the situation.
Njeru is currently being held in custody and is set to be transferred to the Menengai Police Station, where the case was initially reported. His lawyer confirmed that he is cooperating fully with authorities.
