Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has found herself at the centre of a heated public dispute following her breakup with her ex-boyfriend, Mike Ezu, popularly known as Oil Money.
The dramatic fallout, which has unfolded across social media platforms, escalated when Ezu began posting allegations about Okorie’s alleged romantic involvements with several high-profile figures, including during their relationship, igniting a firestorm of controversy in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
The saga began when Okorie announced the end of her relationship with Ezu, citing infidelity, dishonesty, and manipulative behaviour as reasons for the split.
In a series of Instagram posts, the actress accused Ezu of using her fame to gain access to other women in Nollywood and described him as a “pathological liar” and “narcissist”.
She vowed never to flaunt her romantic partners online again until marriage, stating, “Until I marry, y’all will never see my man or even know what he looks like again.”
Okorie further demanded that Ezu stop posting her photos, labelling his actions as harassment and a violation of her privacy.
Ezu, however, refused to let the matter rest. In a retaliatory move, he allegedly purchased an Instagram account with 8.8 million followers to air his grievances and expose what he claimed were Okorie’s “darkest secrets”.
In posts and a private conversation shared by Nigerian critic Radiogad, Ezu accused Okorie of having intimate relationships with prominent Nollywood actors, including Yul Edochie, Zubby Michael, and Mike Ezuruonye, as well as musician Naira Marley and controversial preacher Chukwuemeka Odumeje.
He further claimed Okorie falsified her age online, alleging she is 50 years old rather than the reported 39, and accused her of neglecting her brother during his time in rehab.
Okorie swiftly countered these allegations, dismissing them as “baseless lies” and accusing Ezu of being a serial fraudster who scammed individuals in the UK of over $700,000 and was involved in the murder of his ex-girlfriend’s husband in Italy.
She shared screenshots of alleged chats showing Ezu begging for reconciliation, including a claim that he sent her N1.5 million to win her back, which she rejected.
Movie producer Stanley Chibueze supported Okorie’s claims, further alleging Ezu’s fraudulent activities.
The public feud has divided fans, with some criticising Ezu’s actions as immature and vindictive, while others question Okorie’s credibility.
Fans react with polarised sentiment, others urging caution in relationships and debating the ethics of airing personal disputes online.
As the drama continues to unfold, Okorie remains focused on her career, emphasising her two-decade-long journey in Nollywood and her determination to protect her reputation.
