Kipchoge Keino Stadium to be renamed William Ruto Stadium upon completion

The renowned Kipchoge Keino Stadium will be rechristened William Ruto Stadium after the rebuilding of the stadium is finished, according to the announcement made by the Governor of Nandi, Stephen Sang.

The facility, which was just recently commissioned by the Secretary of the Cabinet for Defence, Soipan Tuya, has been relocated to the Kapsabet Showground in order to make way for the construction of a brand new stadium that includes 10,000 seats and is ultra-modern.

The project is a component of a larger initiative to improve the infrastructure of sporting facilities around the county.

Governor Sang made his remarks in Kapsabet at the opening of the new Kapsabet Municipality offices. He said that President William Ruto played a significant role in the mobilisation of resources to boost sports activities in the area.

It was brought to his attention that the renaming of the stadium in the President’s name is a show of gratitude for the President’s ongoing support for the growth of local sports.

As soon as the project is finished, Governor Sang anticipates that the new stadium will not only increase the number of possibilities available to athletes, but it will also further solidify Nandi’s position as a sports powerhouse.
