Councillor Njohi has come out with serious claims of abduction and assault involving former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria and Murang’a Woman Representative Betty Maina. The story has spread quickly across social media and left many Kenyans talking about political rivalry in the Mount Kenya region.
The councillor, known for backing former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, says unknown people grabbed him in Ol Kalou. He accuses Moses Kuria of planning the whole thing and handing him over to Betty Maina.
According to his account, the ordeal included rough treatment, forced shaving of his head, and humiliating acts before he ended up dumped in Suswa, Narok County.
Njohi shared details of what he went through in a conversation that has now gone viral. He described being driven around in circles after the pickup in Ol Kalou. When he reached the next stop, a woman he identified as Betty Maina met him.
She had been drinking, he said, and grabbed his hair while telling him in Kikuyu that she would shave him that day. She took scissors and cut his hair quickly. Then she ordered him stripped of his clothes. He claims she took photos of him in that state and even massaged, shaved and squeezed his private parts.
He called the experience painful and degrading. “What a wicked woman,” he added while recounting the events. Njohi believes the whole plan came from people close to the government who wanted to send him a warning. He resurfaced later, safe but clearly shaken by everything that happened.
This incident has stirred strong reactions online. Many people who support Gachagua see it as evidence of growing tensions within former ruling alliance circles.
Others question the story and wonder if it is part of the usual political drama meant to score points ahead of future contests. Calls for a proper investigation have grown louder in the past few hours.
Moses Kuria has pushed back against the accusations. He dismissed the claims and denied any role in the reported abduction.
The episode underscores the harsh realities of local politics, where personal grudges and power struggles occasionally become public. Ol Kalou and surrounding areas in Nyandarua have seen increased activity as different camps try to firm up support.
Njohi is viewed by many as a vocal voice for those loyal to Gachagua, which may explain why he became a target if the claims hold any truth.
Residents in the affected counties express worry about safety when politicians clash this way. Ordinary people want leaders to focus on development instead of settling scores through alleged violence or intimidation.
Local security teams have been asked to look into the disappearance and reappearance of the councillor to establish exactly what took place.
This situation serves as a reminder of how personal and sometimes ugly Kenyan politics can get, especially at the grassroots level where councillors and MPs interact daily.
Whether the claims lead to arrests, a court case, or simply fade into more accusations remains to be seen. For now, the focus stays on finding out the full facts behind Councillor Njohi’s dramatic experience.
