Kimani Ngunjiri defends small millers over KEBS exploitation

The representatives were hosted on behalf of all the small millers in Nakuru.

For the past few months, they have been mistreated by KEBS even after following all the guidelines by KEBS.

It is reported that KEBS has gone further to writing to all the big stores and supermarkets cautioning them against buying from the small millers.

Food security and industrialization are two of the main agendas of our Jubilee government. 

” We cannot achieve this by killing the SME’s, ” he said.

The small millers have also provided a stable market for local farmers since most of the big millers depend on imported maize. 

Therefore killing the small millers means killing maize farmers.

“I will next week address this issue through the relevant committees at the assembly so that we can have a good working for our small millers,” he added.

” I also call upon agriculture cs to look into this issue and protect the small millers against this harassment,”
