ODM deny Shimo la Tewa MCA Sammy Ndago a direct ODM ticket for 2022 Kilifi south seat

ODM officials denied Shimo la Tewa MCA bid for Kilifi South constituency seat using their party ticket. The MCA wanted an ODM direct nomination ticket in 2022 but the officials declined. The officials cited that he is not fit for the seat and as well as not a promising candidate.

Hon. Sammy Ndago visited ODM headquarters in Nairobi in order to convince the party official for his bid.

" We are compelled to follow our laws. We are thinking of giving the ticket to Hon. Ken Nyale who is still a member of ODM to date. We need to get more seats again in 2022. We need people who are promising. " ODM secretary-general Edwin Sifuna stated.

Many aspirants believe that getting an ODM ticket in Kilifi county has more benefits if not being closer to the seat. 

Other aspirants who have announced to go for the Kilifi seat include former Wipers' Senatorial aspirant Hon. Chigiri Dunga, Mustapha Idd, Mwanasha Abdalla, Hon.Ken Nyale and Rashid Matano.

The incumbent Mp Ken Chonga announced that he will be going for Kilifi county top seat.
