Kilifi deputy Governor Gideon Saburi |
Kilifi Deputy Governor Gideon Saburi and his driver tested positive of Covid-19. After he failed to quarantine, detectives, arrested him and was forced to quarantine as tests awaiting results yesterday.
The Deputy Governor and his driver are quarantined at Mbagathi Hospital, Nairobi. The detectives, however, are tracing all the people he came to contact with in the past four days.
Detectives in Kilifi also investigates the offices he went after he failed to quarantine at home. They also investigate the driver where he went and which people he picked.
The deputy Governor was tested in Mombasa but he was later taken Mbagathi Hospital after exhibiting the real symptoms of covid-19 as they were waiting for results. His Driver was admitted to Mombasa Coast General hospital with breathing problems but later taken to Mbagathi where both are receiving treatment. They are in stable condition.
The Government, however, maintained that there is no cause for alarm as the virus can be treated but urged people to follow the state directives of maintaining hygiene.
Deputy Governor Gideon Saburi becomes the first public servant to contract the virus in Kenya.
Quick recovery to them all.
ReplyDeleteNobody is just above the law, following simple directives to quarantine himself is now tragedic, let we wish them quick recovery and if it means death is coming let them take heart, no one at all is save , Let the simple Kenyans take caution because it's spreading like wild fire, if the driver and the driven got to contact many people then we expect a surge in the number of cases , not only that , the government should see the top leaders who have contacted the virus being treated in their home county hospitals because that's where they've infested in and if the system there ain't efficiently functional, may God forbid, let them die . Because that's what they've wished for their subjects. Good luck
DeleteQuick recovery DG.. Those who contacted him should voluntarily isolate(Quarantine).
ReplyDeleteCorona ni kama Malaria tu. Inatibika. Wale wa kwanza walitibiwa wakaruhusiwa kwenda nyumbani mbona ukuwe na uoga? Tembelea hospital ukiona dalili usingoje sana.
ReplyDeleteAfricans REALLY don't know what they are getting into.

ReplyDeleteThis guy should be arrested and charged for putting kilifi residence at risk.he knew well that he had corona virus after being forced to leave German by German officials who had tested him and find him positive of corona..this guy comes back to the country attend gatherings in the village like nothing is wrong. Such an irresponsible leader... the government should take actions against him for endangering our lives.
ReplyDeleteIf this really is the case then he's very irresponsible, is he not ashamed now, having to be arrested and forced to quarantine!
DeleteKilifi ain't safe now!
My exact sentiments. He should be heavily fined. na owe funzo Kwa wengineo kama yeye.
DeleteWhat? The Germans let him leave after testing him? WTF!
DeletePlz let's go slow on this corona thing... Point no finger at nine cox you don't know that you could be the next infected or affected.

ReplyDeleteHe is irresponsible and has ended up infecting so many of Kilifi residents. He should be charged with manslaughter if anyone dies in Kilifi from his irresponsible actions
ReplyDeleteVery irresponsible leader. Why did he go to public places and he knew very well he had the virus. What was his aim??
ReplyDeleteNa c alipitia airport kwanini hakupimwa huko kabla hajaenda popote??? tafadhali acheni kuatarisha maisha ya wakenya ikiwa umesafiri na umerudi fuata utaratibu acha kuatarisha maisha ya wengine
ReplyDeleteLeader elected by people to lead them?????
ReplyDeleteHe should be fined after knowingly ignoring government's directives and not quarantining.
ReplyDeleteWaa
ReplyDeleteVery unfortunate case there.may God have mercy on us.
ReplyDeleteHe was my lecturer @ Mombasa polytechnic, he disappeared for a whole semester no classes & we had to Jack him out of class. He is irresponsible from the word go. He has been like that ever since. Kilifians have a reason to be ashamed of such leaders in the name Gedion Saburi
ReplyDeleteVerySad
ReplyDeleteVery shameful indeed
ReplyDeleteGod help u to recover but you must repent for spreading the virus to your very own pple
ReplyDeleteHe is such an irresponsible leader
ReplyDeleteThis is a true confirmation that we still can't believe that serious precautions are being taken by the government. If they were carrying out tests for people coming into Kenya at the airport, then that DP would have been realized at the airport.
ReplyDeleteThis is serious. Quick recovery DG. He did wrong thing if at all he knew was positive not going to quarantine but lets remember he is also a human and needs moral support more so to his family
ReplyDeleteThis kind of impunity by our leaders should never be to related. He should be charged and lose that seat at the same time. Very selfish of him to have done this
ReplyDeleteQR DG
