Kisumu Tuskys branch closed

Unable to pay monthly rent hit Tuskys Supermarket in Kisumu just after Naivas opened a Megamall Mart in the same city.

The Supermarket stationed at United Mall closes due to lease arrears accumulated to millions.

The retail giant needs to pay Sh26 million to secure the deal or face auctioneering to the auctioneer.

Other small shops which are rented by Tuskys have also been affected.

These are Good Life pharmacy, Safari Optica, Tuscom, Ufungamano Christian Bookshop and Gifts just to name a few.

Security personnel were stationed to guard the battling business.

Tuskys workers were on cross-roads after Victoria Blues Services Auctioneers clasped the Tuskys and in-shops following a public auction in a local daily.

Mall manager Mukesh Jaiswal slumped to the matter but later gave up excusing himself for being out of the office for two weeks.

"I can't speak on the matter. Please go to the headquarters in Nairobi," he said.

In the public auction, the auctioneers have been given a directive to sale all the goods in the shops to recover the money.
