Police officers in Kabete, Kiambu County are hunting down two men in their 30s after impregnating two sisters aged 15 and 17 in Gikuni Village.

The elder sister is a Form One student while the other is a standard Eight pupil.

The 17-year-old girl is six months pregnant, whereas her 15-year-old sibling is one-and-a-half months pregnant.

The younger of the two siblings, who is the fourth born in a family of seven.

According to reports, shortly after schools were ordered to close in mid-March 2020 following the outbreak of COVID-19 in Kenya, her male neighbours started preying on her.

She said that in the last five months, she was defiled by two men.

“One of them, a neighbour, used to defile me in the bathroom, after which, he would give me Ksh100,” said the 15-year-old.

“Another one, a taxi driver whose name is James, used to defile me in his car. He would also give me Ksh100 after the act,” she added.

The teenager claims it is James, a married man in his mid-30s, who impregnated her.

“One day, when he was parking his car on returning home, I confronted him and told him that he was responsible for my pregnancy. He did not deny it. However, since that day, I have never seen him. We are told that he relocated to a far-off land,” said the minor.

Her elder sister was paged in March. A different man was responsible for her pregnancy.

“He used to give me between Ksh50 and Ksh100 after sex,” said the third born in a family of seven.

“After conceiving in March, I kept the secret from my mother and the father of my unborn baby. However, in April, I decided to tell the man who had defiled me that I was carrying his child. He denied responsibility. Since that day, he has not been picking my calls,” said the 17-year-old.

“Mum was so disappointed in us after we conceived. She even said she will pick our three younger siblings and vanish, never to be seen again,” the younger of the two expectant sisters said.

A Kiambu Gender group picked up the matter and promised to follow it up until justice is availed to the family.

Kiambu detectives have now launched a hunt for the two suspects whose locations remain mystery.
