Robert Bodo is a top suspect in the killing of Kevin Omwenga, 28, in Kilimani Estate, Nairobi has been arrested.


He was apprehended on Saturday morning, a mini Ceska firearm seized with 13 rounds of ammunition.


The gun was speculated to be used in the lethal gunfire at Galana Suites apartment on Friday.


“The pistol will be constrained to ballistic examination as further investigations follow to conclude the motive of the shooting,” the DCI said on twitter.


The deceased is among the top motor vehicle dealers.


According to the brother Wycliff Omwenga, he was in the kitchen cooking supper when he overheard a gunshot emanating from the bedroom.

“Onrushing there, he found Robert Bodo in rushing to leave. On accessing the bedroom, he found Kevin lying on his back with blood flowing from his thorax,” the police report reads.

He hastened him to Nairobi Women’s Hospital Adams branch but was declared dead on entry.


Bodo accompanied them at the hospital later that evening after which they all continued to Kilimani Police Station.


The suspect was detained later led the police to Senteu Plaza which is adjacent to Galana Suites where the gun and ammunition were found.


“It was found kept in a safe in an office which was claimed to relate to Chris Obure who is also speculated to be the keeper of the firearm,” the police report adds.


The body was conveyed to Montezuma mortuary pending a postmortem as policer arrested Chris Obure for questioning.
